As a Security Specialist with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
Verify user personnel security clearances and eligibility via the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to authorize and issue physical and digital assets, courier authorization letters, and courier badges.
Manage, account for, and control all accountable collateral and TS/SCI material within the command, maintaining strict 100% accountability for over 675 classified assets within the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL).
Coordinate the execution of comprehensive classified material inventories, ensuring proper handling, receipt, dispatch, reproduction, and secure storage.
Enforce policies, procedures, and directives for the safeguarding and protection of classified information and sensitive technical data.
Ensure Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) maintain full compliance with ICD-705 standards, conducting routine and formal inspections on behalf of the Special Security Officer (SSO).
Oversee all GSA-approved security containers, ensuring containers are properly documented and maintained using Standard Form 700 (SF-700), assisting command departments with combination changes, and performing recurring container inventories.
Identify operational conflicts and security vulnerabilities, providing timely feedback and safeguards to mitigate information spillage.
Lead inquiries and formal investigations into classified data spills and security compromises, authoring comprehensive After-Action Reports (AARs) to provide senior leadership with actionable mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
Develop, administer, and maintain physical security procedures, visitor control operations, and security education briefings across supported facilities.
