Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an experienced, mission-focused Program Manager with a strong military background and demonstrated experience in information technology systems supporting space and missile systems. You will partner closely with our government customer while leading large, diverse, and distributed teams in a committed culture of support to a 24/7/365 military operation.

Responsibilities

As a Program Manager with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to manage operations in Hunstville, AL and Colorado Springs, CO to:

  • Provide guidance, control, and oversight of contract activities and resources with a goal of total accountability, accuracy, disclosure, control, forecasting
  • Provide for the overall management of product quality, contract personnel, cost-based control activities, safety, and security
  • Develop and deliver program performance data and required deliverables
  • Establish key performance metrics
  • Manage the collection, evaluation, and reporting of program objectives and outcomes using defined metrics and customer feedback
  • Support recruiting and retention efforts, career development, and skill assessment for all program personnel
  • Support risk identification, management, and mitigation
  • Develop and maintain safety programs in compliance with federal regulations

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in Program Management of DoD programs. This includes managing cost, schedule, and performance of large, multi-disciplinary IT Programs inclusive of IT operations, cybersecurity, infrastructure, facilities systems, and program management.
  • Prior service and/or operational experience in managing Information Technology Systems supporting missile warning/tracking, C2, space and missile defense, or battle management systems
  • Experience managing DoW contracts and interacting with Government/DoW stakeholders. (e.g., KO, COR, ACOR) in multiple geographical areas. Experience managing multiple subcontractors’ performance.
  • Experience supporting missile warning, space and missile defense, C2 systems, 24/7 ops environments, acquisition lifecycle.
  • Success operating as a trusted partner to government and the ability to co-message issues/solutions to senior officers/officials.
  • Understanding of the military watch floor culture, creating a collaborative environment for diverse teams, a customer-centric approach to operations.
  • Collaborative, mission-aligned, focused on leading a team to measurable, beneficial results
  • Active TS/SCI
  • PMP certified
  • Bachelor’s degree with a technical or management focus; master’s degree in business preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
