AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an Systems Support Specialist III
personnel to support the NISSC 3 program at Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado. These positions deliver technical and operational support for multiple mission systems by providing onsite and oncall coverage for system administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support in a TS/SCI environment. Systems Support Specialists will help ensure operational readiness, data integrity, and highquality reporting to program leadership.
• Provide onsite and oncall system administration and operational support for mission systems at Peterson SFB.
• Troubleshoot and correct system, network, and software issues impacting operations.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, including applying patches, updates, and configuration changes.
• Provide user support and training; resolve access and operation issues and capture recurring trends.
• Collect, update, and maintain operational logs, incident reports, deficiency reports, and checklists.
• Perform incident response, including triage, escalation, resolution, and documentation.
• Perform backup and restore operations to protect mission data and ensure continuity.
• Support system administration and database functions as needed.
• Ensure procedural compliance and proper recordkeeping for audits and inspections.
• Support performance optimization, data integrity, and management status reporting; for Lead roles, direct daytoday execution and mentor junior team members.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in systems or network administration, systems support, or similar technical roles in secure, missioncritical (DoD or similar) environments.
• Strong leadership capabilities in directing project/task execution across domains such as maintenance, integration, and data management.
• Experience allocating resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality deliverables.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve operational issues and provide precise, timely status updates to management and stakeholders.
• Experience managing schedules and aligning tasks with program objectives to support integrated operations across functional domains.
• Strong documentation skills for logs, incident reports, and technical records.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field,
OR equivalent DoD/Military training in systems administration, network operations, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum: Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.
• Holds a DoD 8140 qualifying certification; one or more of the following (or equivalent) is required/preferred:
– Cloud+
– GSEC
– Security+
– SSCP
