Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Simulation and Training Systems Architect to work closely with system users to identify and resolve user problems and concerns for complex projects; perform cost-benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions, leveraging commercial off-the-shelf or pre-developed components to the fullest extent; and assist clients in designing and developing solutions to complex technical engineering and application problems, network challenges, or system administration issues.

Responsibilities

  • Independently design high-level enterprise training and simulation systems.
  • Establish foundational structures and define core design elements.
  • Collaborate with system users to identify and resolve issues.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to determine optimal solutions.
  • Leverage commercial off-the-shelf or pre-developed components.
  • Create acceptance test requirements in collaboration with systems engineers, designers, test engineers, and users.
  • Ensure all high-level requirements, especially those related to computer-human interfaces, are met.
  • Leverage Model Based Systems Engineering to define and deliver solutions
  • Assist clients in designing and developing solutions to technical engineering and application problems, network challenges, or system administration issues.
  • Integrate new technology into customer infrastructure, aligning with business processes.
  • Ensure designed processes and requirements are consistent with the customer's enterprise technical architecture.
  • Participate in business development activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum 10 years of experience
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Proven experience in:
    • High-level enterprise application system design for live virtual and constructive networks, range application, and simulation.
    • Creating acceptance test requirements and collaborating with designers, test engineers, and users.
  • Strong knowledge of core design elements and foundational structures of distributed training principals including HLA, DIS, and various DoW services interoperability standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with system users.
  • Familiarity with commercial simulation and training off-the-shelf or pre-developed components for image and database generation, communications, flight systems, and maintenance training available across the industry.
  • Deep understanding of RHEL, Windows, various O/S, scripting, & networking tools to deploy training systems.  
  • Acquisition expertise developing Technical Specifications and Statements of Work
  • Technical expertise in designing and developing solutions to complex technical engineering, network, and system administration issues.
  • Ability to integrate new technology into existing infrastructure and align it with business processes.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $136,000.00/Yr. - USD $227,100.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
