Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Senior Network and Computer Systems Administrator to join the NISSC3 Mission at The Pentagon. Responsibilities

  • Provides advanced technical leadership and expertise for the NMCC by managing daily onsite 8x5 support and 24/7/365 on-call system administration and user support.
  • Oversees and ensures reliable delivery of:
  • Management and reporting
  • System administration
  • Vulnerability management
  • O-Level maintenance
  • Test support tasks in strict adherence to technical manuals and government security protocols.
  • Conducts remote troubleshooting and support for Strategic Presidential Decision Support Modules (PDS-Ms) at geographically dispersed locations, ensuring sustained system operability even when the on-site individual is unavailable.
  • Analyzes operational trends, incident data, and maintenance activities to drive service improvements.
  • Prepares and validates all contractual deliverables—including role continuity binders, performance metrics inputs, incident reports, and technical documentation.
  • Establishes, documents, and communicates best practices and lessons learned for all mission assurance activities at NMCC and associated remote support sites.

THESE POSITIONS ARE CONTINGENT UPON AWARD OF CONTRACT.   

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent DoD/military training
  • 7–10 years of experience
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive and classified DoD systems and information
  • Collect, analyze, and report surveillance and performance metrics
  • Prepare meeting agendas, materials, minutes, and monthly task reports
  • Maintain documentation for O&M roles, continuity binders, and procedures
  • Document issues and propose/support corrective actions and system changes (including Deficiency Reports, Artifact Defects, and AFTO Form 22 recommendations)
  • Manage and track System Administration/User Support actions via Incident Reports (IR)
  • Conduct standup meetings; interface with local government coordinators for workload prioritization
  • Create, manage, and delete user/group accounts and security policies
  • Provide one-on-one and remote technical support across multiple sites and systems (including via phone/email/remote logon)
  • Proactive monitoring of system and link performance; rapid troubleshooting and restoration
  • Perform system backups, restores, startups, shutdowns, error detection, log analysis, and recovery/restoration in line with applicable Technical Manuals and procedures
  • Support for remote and telephonic IT assistance
  • Support for installation, test events, site prep, validation, and system integration activities
  • Execute maintenance per technical documentation, and coordinate with Remedy or site-specific work order systems as applicable
  • Perform ISSO (Information System Security Officer) duties per DoDI 8500.01; monitor and remediate system vulnerabilities
  • Update antivirus signatures, analyze threats, implement vulnerability management plans, and report security event artifacts
  • Ensure timely implementation of IAVMs, CTOs, and threat assessments

Certifications / Clearance:

  • Top Secret (TS) security clearance
  • DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification for Information Assurance Technical roles is typically required (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or similar

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a cross-functional O&M team
  • Experience supporting 24x7 mission operations or on-call technical support in classified environments
  • Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders, including military, government civilians, and contractors
  • Documentation, communication, and process improvement skills

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $108,100.00/Yr. - USD $180,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
