Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and coordinate review efforts for verification and validation work related work efforts in the Electrical Engineering discipline.
  • Review design review comments submitted by junior engineers and advise decisionmakers on considerations for high impact and critical design review decisions.
  • Coordinate and lead review and adjudication of system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS’s), Request for Waiver (RFW),
  • Engineering Changes (EC’s). Lead effort to evaluate new or modified electronics on overall system performance.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. Navy Power Distribution Architecture.
  • Extensive Knowledge of USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations
  • Provide mentorship to junior electrical engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineer, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering or related field
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • 15 years’ documented experience working in one of the following specialized fields: electric propulsion, machinery control, power generation or distribution systems

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $155,700.00/Yr. - USD $260,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
