The Cloud Architect will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Development, Pre-Production, and Production cloud environments for the CODIS Unit. This role is responsible for shaping a robust, secure, and scalable multi-cloud infrastructure to support the evolving needs of forensic DNA applications, ensuring seamless operations across various cloud platforms and delivering high-availability services to the forensic community.
- Active Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance)
- Architect, implement, and support secure and scalable cloud environments (Development, Pre-Production, Production) for CODIS applications.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Azure DevOps, Terraform, and related toolchains.
- Oversee deployment and orchestration of containerized microservices leveraging Kubernetes and Docker.
- Integrate and configure key cloud-native tools and services including RabbitMQ, Keycloak, Linkerd, NGINX, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and more.
- Collaborate with software engineering and operations teams to support application development and system reliability.
- Ensure efficient and secure use of cloud resources in both Azure and AWS, following best practices for cloud service provisioning, cost management, and governance.
- Provide expertise in cloud networking, identity management, and infrastructure security for all phases of solution delivery.
- Oversee migration and interoperability between on-premise, cloud, and hybrid architectures.
- Support monitoring, performance tuning, disaster recovery planning, and incident response for cloud environments.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for cloud architectures and operations procedures.
