Overview

The program manager will lead the team to support the Office of Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) Mission Integration directorate’s mission is to establish, maintain, and propagate mission integration across the DoD. Activities include mission engineering, analyses and studies, and mission integration expertise to produce objective insights and analytic justification to inform future technology and capability investment decisions and aid in the prioritization, alignment and validation of requirements to deliver modernized capabilities that enable an all-domain joint force to inform and enable implementation of future Joint Warfighting Concepts. To conduct rigorous mission engineering activities to identify and prioritize investments in capabilities with the potential to meet current and future warfighting needs, close warfighting gaps, and enable Joint Force interoperability and integration. In addition to harness modeling and simulation (M&S) tools and advanced techniques to develop and analyze critical Joint Mission Engineering Threads (METs) / “Kill Webs” in operational scenarios, enabling DoD leaders to make informed technology investment decisions.

Responsibilities

  • The Program Manager is responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned program or programs.
  • This includes activities related to contract performance, financials, quality assurance, risk management, communications, leadership, and business development.
  • Responsible for interacting and coordinating with all levels of the organization to meet the needs of the program.
  • Provides expert guidance and direction to program staff.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams to fulfill contractual and multiple programmatic/project requirements for federal government customers.
  • Experience and knowledge of mission engineering and integration, systems engineering, and modeling, simulation and analysis (MS&A) for defense sector.
  • Understanding and leading teams to develop and analyze mission threads, kill chains, kill webs, and integration of emerging technologies (i.e. science and technology (S&T) and research and development (R&D) initiatives) into mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and/or Engineering plus 7 years of management experience.
  • 7 years of experience in program or project management, with 3 years in a leadership role managing complex engineering or technical contracts or programs/projects.
    7 years of experience with managing multi-disciplinary teams to fulfill contractual and multiple programmatic/project requirements for federal government customers.
    7 years of experience in mission engineering and integration, systems engineering, and modeling, simulation and analysis (MS&A) for defense sector.
    5 years of experience in understanding and leading teams to develop and analyze mission threads, kill chains, kill webs, and integration of emerging technologies (i.e. science and technology (S&T) and research and development (R&D) initiatives) into mission-critical systems.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $129,300.00/Yr. - USD $215,900.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
