Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.

Responsibilities

  • Use SOLIDWORKS to develop solid models and create 2D assembly-level drawings that will become Government Furnished Information (GFI) for new submarine analysis systems.
  • Work daily with onsite government Engineers and Project Managers to ensure that information is technically accurate.
  • Develop project schedules, create technical reports, whitepapers, and general correspondence.
  • Conduct static analyses of mechanical structures or develop solid models to predict stresses and structural performance.
  • Assist the Design Team with material selection using proper commercial and/or Military Specifications.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance reviews of design and engineering products.
  • Interface with customers and government sponsors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering.
  • Ability to maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines:
  • Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces.
  • Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20’ – 25’) within the submarine.
  • At least two (2) years business experience in:
    • General engineering.
    • Working with SOLIDWORKS.
    • Working with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Working with Visio Diagram/Flowchart Software.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $77,600.00/Yr. - USD $129,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
