Responsibilities

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking qualified Cybersecurity Analyst applicants to provide technical services to Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) Detachment 2 (Det 2) through analytical, engineering, and cyber operations subject matter expertise for Det 2’s Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture (JCWA) programs.  The specific programs supported are the Unified Platform (UP) and Joint Cyber Command and Control (JCC2) offensive and defensive cyber operations. 

 

We are seeking individuals familiar with DoD, DOT&E, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), major command (MAJCOM), and Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) cybersecurity guidance.  

  • The cybersecurity analyst will perform JCWA operational test and evaluation (OT&E) efforts to include test/assessment capabilities, planning and early influence, execution, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Applicants should be familiar with Cybersecurity Security Classification/Declassification Guide for Air Force Weapon Systems and cybersecurity and resiliency requirements detailed in DoD and AFOTEC directives to include Mission-based Risk Assessment Process for Cyber (MRAP-C)

A week in the life of a Cybersecurity Analyst:

  • Candidates will perform integrated, multi-service, and initial operational test and evaluation of Agile Software Development increments.
  • Candidates will apply in-depth technical and operational knowledge related to Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Cybersecurity Test and Evaluation (CSTE).
  • Candidates apply engineering experience, mathematical, and statistical knowledge to develop assessment metrics/measures meaningful to decision makers and operational commanders.
  • Candidates will apply knowledge of Cyber Network Defense and Computer Network Exploitation.
  • Candidates will work in in close coordination with US Cyber Command (USCC), joint services, other OTAs, and acquisition partners.
  • Candidates will support reporting and briefings to developers, command representatives, USCC, and the Program Executive Officer.

Qualifications

  • Must have six or more years of experience in cybersecurity, network defense, and/or network attack, exercise planning, operations centers, or cybersecurity assessments. Test and evaluation experience desired.  Cybersecurity Operational Testing highly desired.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar technical field (operations research, statistics, etc.).
  • Must have current and active Top Secret Clearance with eligibility for SCI and SAP access. US. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • Must have IAT Level II or Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP) ISC2.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $67,800.00/Yr. - USD $113,200.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
