Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. AMERICAN SYSTEMS is currently seeking a mission-driven professional to become our next Senior Aerospace Engineer at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.  This position supports the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center’s (AFOTEC) ICBM Operational Test & Evaluation Team, and the LGM-35A Sentinel test program.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Aerospace Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:

    • Play a critical role in national security by supporting the development and evaluation of ICBM systems for the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC). 
    • Apply your expertise and experience to analyze and assess the performance of ICBM systems, contributing to the evaluation of ICBM guidance and control.
    • Review and understand the missile booster and guidance designs, support critical meetings and test events, such as booster motor static fire testing, communicate findings and potential impacts to the Operational Test mission.
    • Assess the effectiveness of current and future ICBM capabilities, identifying test requirements, documenting existing infrastructure, pinpointing shortfalls, conducting trade-off analyses, and recommending solutions to enhance testing. 
    • Develop and refine comprehensive test plans for ICBM systems, encompassing test objectives, methodologies, data collection strategies, ensuring alignment with DOT&E and AFOTEC guidance. 
    • Contribute to the analysis and communicate the implications of test data collected from ICBM system evaluations, assessing system performance against predefined measures of effectiveness and suitability. 
    • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and deliver compelling presentations to effectively communicate findings and recommendations related to ICBM system operational performance to leadership and stakeholders. 
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies in aerospace engineering and ICBM systems to continuously improve testing and evaluation processes. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant work experience 
  • 2+ years of demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas of expertise: 
  • Atmospheric re-entry or hypersonic flight dynamics. 
  • Developing, analyzing, or modeling flight control or navigation systems. 
  • Developing or analyzing computer models & simulations (M&S) for flight systems. 
  • Working knowledge of Test and Evaluation methodologies, developing and executing test plans, writing reports and submitting findings. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely. 
  • REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: Candidates must have a current TOP SECRET clearance, and will be required to obtain other special security accesses and SCI to perform the work. Must have a current background investigation within the last six years from actual hire date. Candidates with a SECRET clearance will be considered, but preference will be given to those with active TOP SECRET clearances 

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $80,100.00/Yr. - USD $133,700.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
