Responsibilities

As a Research Analyst III you will:

  • Provide technical support in the areas of survivability and vulnerability research and analysis to inform USCENTCOM CCJ3 and CCJ5 continuing requirements to improve survivability capabilities through the enhancement of Force Protection (FP) and assessment concepts and techniques.
  • Formulate and define research and development scope and objectives for assigned projects.
  •  Perform process improvement analysis for USCENTCOM’s Mission Assurance and Assessments (MAA), AT, and FP missions
  • Perform force survivability analysis for the preparation of short- and long-term strategic planning reports that shall enable USCENTCOM to respond to evolving threats and proactively posture itself in executing its mission and roles.
  •  Perform analysis and develop recommendations for Government approval for campaign and operation assessments, to include identifying recommended best practices. 
  • Plan and develop mission significant wargames and exercises as they relate to FP and mission assurance equities.
  • Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering Defense systems capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.
  •  Prepare detailed specifications from which research programs will be written.   
  • Responsible for program design, testing, and documentation.
  •  Has full technical knowledge of all phases of research application analysis and programming.
  •  Has good understanding of research analysis techniques and ability to apply them.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Geographic Combatant Command (GCC) staff experience is required
  • Experts on the functioning of a GCC, understand regional employment of national strategic objectives, and be knowledgeable on theater strategy, Combatant Command (COCOM) Campaign Plans (CCPs), COCOM Campaign Orders, Global Campaign Plans (GCPs), Annual Joint Assessment (AJA), and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) Joint Risk Assessment (CRAs), and Force Protection (FP) support to theater strategy, regional threats, security cooperation, advisory missions, phase zero operations, and the operations of a Joint Security Area.
  •  Experienced with the risk management process of the FP functions of the Service Components (i.e., ARCENT, AFCENT, MARCENT, NAVCENT, SPACECENT, and SOCCENT)
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently performs a wide variety of complicated tasks.
  •  Provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist.
  •  Master’s degree and/or Ph.D.; at least 12 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • DoD secret clearance required, TS preferred with SCI eligibility

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $132,700.00/Yr. - USD $279,100.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
